Well life has been very busy. Scott's been putting in a lot of time at work and I've been busy at home with the kids. We found out a couple of weeks ago that Joshua and Anna were accepted into the elementary school we had applied for. It's a state school but it's part of their "Choice Program". We had to apply by the beginning of this year and then students were selected via a lottery system. It's a Montessori school and it's one of two public schools in the county that accept 3 year olds. We are super thrilled about this because that means that Anna doesn't have to wait a whole year to start school.
Joshua and Anna are doing very well. Anna's very ready to be in school, so we're very blessed that she'll be able to go next year. Her and I have a great time together every day. She loves going shopping with me and understands about shopping with coupons. She's still such a little princess. She loves girly girl things and wants to do everything like me. Joshua's still enjoying school and attending Karate. He's doing great with Kumon. He's working on addition now and is up to +3. It's amazing to see him grasp the concept of addition and see the progress he makes every day.
We went to a Karate tournament for the first time this past Saturday and all I can say is it was loooong! Six hours later and we were finally able to leave. Joshua didn't participate this time, but his Sensai wanted him to be there as part of the team and see what it's all about. I have to say that for a sport that's supposed to be about discipline and self control, they really were very undisciplined. The tournament should've started at 9:30 am, but they didn't start until 10:50 am. Thankfully his Sensai told us that they never start on time so we weren't too surprised. I don't know about Scott, but my butt is still sore from sitting on those bleachers for so long. Next time we're definitely taking pillows with us!!
We're coming up to our 1 year anniversary in our place and after prayerfully considering our options we have decided not to renew our lease. We found a nicer townhouse in a better school district for right around what we currently pay each month for rent. It was a big decision for us as neither Scott or I felt like dealing with a move. In the end, we're very excited about this change. We move at the end of the month and have found movers that will pack the whole house up for us if we want, at a reasonable price. Once we've settled in I'll post pictures of our new place.
I gave my first Coupon Class last month. It took many, many hours of preparation, but was very worth it in the end. It was a small class (4 friends attended), but it allowed me the chance to practice and review my training material as I was teaching. Now I have a 21 page training pack and I'm ready for whatever God wants to do with it. Ideally I would love to hold Couponing Seminars to teach people how to become smart shoppers and live well for less.
As we're approaching the middle of the year, I hope that all of you are doing well and that this year has been all that you've hoped it would be. For Scott and I, we've faced some challenges, but overall, it's been a good year for us. We've learned to expect the unexpected and that even though it's good to have a plan and goal(s) that we're working towards, God ALWAYS knows what's best for us and continues to bless us more than we could ever hope for or imagine. No matter how big our dreams are, God's plans for us are bigger!!
