Halloween/Harvest Night Celebrations

Joshua and Anna went Trick or Treating for the first time this Halloween. Joshua was a dragon and Anna a butterfly. Of course the costumes were a little too warm for Florida weather so they did some stripping down, but it was a lot of fun. Trudy also experienced her first Halloween and had as much fun knocking on doors as the kids. We ended up going around with a couple of the neighbourhood friends which really made the night that much more special

Friday before Halloween we went to the Harvest Night festival at our church and had a great time. Joshua and Anna both experienced another first when they climbed the rock climbing wall. Anna was barely heavy enough for it, but she did it with Joshua encouraging her every step. It was really cool to see what a great big brother he is to his little sister.

A little bit of everything

I can hardly believe we're in November already! Christmas is 6 weeks away and I haven't even begun to get anything ready for it. Life has been pretty hectic over the last few months (when is it not, right?). Joshua started Kindergarten and Anna started Pre-K3 in August. We also have an exchange student name Trudy from South Korea living with us now. She moved in with us in September and will be here until the end of the school year in June next year.

Joshua and Anna are loving their school. They're there from 8am to 2pm every day and have adjusted well to the routine. They both have awesome teachers and really seem to be learning a lot.

We've settled in nicely into our place and can't imagine going anywhere else anytime soon. The space is great and we've spent a lot of time at the pool and the playground in the community. The kids have become friendly with a couple of the neighbourhood kids and enjoy meeting up with them at the playground.

Scott and Joshua are still doing Karate twice a week. Trudy has also started doing it with them. We let Anna try it a few weeks ago but she's still a little too young so we're going to wait a bit for that. Now we're seriously contemplating letting her start gymnastics or ballet, although she told me the other day that she wants to play soccer. We'll have to see how that goes.

Scott's still very busy at work and enjoying the challenges that each new work day brings. I'm still a full-time mom and enjoying the time I get to spend with the kids every day. We are very blessed and are thankful for our little family and God for supplying all of our needs.
